The material of which dreams are made of (and memories, and desires)
Memories do not have limits that can stop them, and they fly on the wings of memories. Desires are not measured in pixels and don’t enclose themselves in centimeters.
As photographers we can humbly try to create, with technology and creativity, the most appropriate means to make the wishes come true and make the memories fly high, of those who choose us. Because what else is, basically, a marriage than the encounter between the material of which dreams and objects are made of, images, smiles, hands, clothes that embody the single special day of that special couple?
To my married couples – because each and every bride and groom are always a bit ‘mine”! – I propose the Wedding Box and the Wedding Album.
The Wedding Box is an elegant packaging to be opened like a jewelry box: inside, embedded, there is a USB key with the pictures of the wedding. At it’s side, there are 50 pictures in a fine art format. That is the best of the colors, paper, printing technique, because this is what feuls the memory of one of the best days of our life. For videos of the wedding, the box is completed with 50 photos for 50 frames of unforgettable moments.
The Wedding Album has cover in canvas material, artistic binding, photos 30 x 30 on waxed paper with white background that gives the photographs a shininess over the entire surface of the page. I choose materials that are less known, to surprise, to highlight that every wedding – your wedding! – Is unique. Inside the album, the stars are the photos, and the layout serves to make them stand out, they are in single page or side by side, perhaps a triptych of images of couples in which only the position of the face, the tip of the smile, varies.
The Box and the album were born from my daily challenge: to give shape to the wishes of my spouses. Even emergencies, such as when a couple called me saying that in the chaos of a move, they had lost the box 6 to 4 cm with the the usb stick with all the photos inside. The idea of a larger container, more elegant, that goes well with the digital format and a selection of prints, was born there and then. And then it was developed, as I said.
But the North Star is always the same, and has the face of the couples: my Canons are at the service of their demands, as well as of my gaze.
